The fall ‘Vancouver Camera Swap Meet’ is coming up on Nov. 6th 2011.
Come early, there is usually a huge crowd at these events. ‘Early Birds’ pay extra to get in, but it’s worth it.
Bring lots of cash, as there will be many great ‘deals’.

If any of you are looking for any strobist type equipment I have purchased a number of items from http://www.inspironphoto.com/. I have
been quite happy with the items I have purchased from them. Pete and I offered to help Jennie if she attended the show. She has rented a booth so drop by and say hello and took a look at what she has to offer.
Cheers,
Jim
A Lions Gate Camera Club member was at a friend’s house for dinner; they were asked to show their web portfolio from a recent overseas photo trip.
The photographers friends were quite impressed “what wonderful Photos!” said the
wife” you must have a very expensive camera.”
The photographer just smiled and waited until after dinner and said “Thank you for the delicious meal You must have very expensive pans!”
Some weeks ago LGCC was approached by the BC Cancer Agency’s volunteer program looking for somebody who would give a presentation on how to improve people’s photography skills in one of their lunch hour lecture series. Our own Urs Boxler stepped forward to give presentation focused on photographic composition. Thank you Urs for stepping up and volunteering your time on behalf of the Lions Gate Camera Club to a worthwhile cause.
For those of you that didn’t attend Scott’s presentation you missed a real treat.
Renowned Montreal area photographer Scott Linstead was very open telling us about setups and equipment used for his awarding winning shots.
Visits Scott’s website at http://www.scottyphotography.com/about.html
Murray O’Neill will be presenting
RAW Processing and Digital Imaging Work Flow, which includes
editing and processing RAW images right through to preparing
output, such as prints and projected images.
Concentration will be on Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop,
but can also be applied in Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Elements and
the proprietary software camera makers. Topic will be fairly basic,
with some advanced elements, providing very useful and important,
but poorly documented procedures.

Sorry not sure who to blame this on credit.
Snow White used her new digital camera to take pictures of all the dwarfs.
She took the memory card to the store to get prints made.
A week later, she returned for the photos, but the clerk said they weren’t ready yet.
She was so disappointed that she started to cry.
.
.
.
Wait for it…
.
.
Don’t worry, Snow White,” said the clerk, consoling her.
“Someday your prints will come!”
